The Sasse Museum of Art is a nonprofit art museum in Pomona, California, celebrating the work of local and regional artists of the Inland Empire and beyond. Founded in 2015 by photographer and educator Gene Sasse, the museum maintains a permanent collection of more than 2,000 works and produces approximately 24 exhibitions annually — one of the most active exhibition programs in the region. Admission is always free. The museum operates from a simple conviction: meaningful encounters between art and viewer don't need to be explained — they need to be made possible. Every exhibition is designed not to instruct, but to invite. Audiences bring their own experience, their own memory, their own eye to the work, and something personal can happen in that meeting. With 46 published exhibition catalogs reaching readers in nearly 50 countries, the Sasse has built an international presence while remaining rooted in its community. It is the Inland Empire's first permanent collection dedicated to the artists of this region — a place where love stories develop between art and viewer. |
