I wanted to offer a different perspective on Vincent van Gogh, something that was different than had been done already. I’ve Known Kendall Johnson for a number of years and I thought it might be interesting to approach this project form the eyes of a psychologists. I approached Kendall about his thoughts and after a number of discussions I decided to move forward with this project; Dear Vincent: A PsychologistTurned Artist writes back to Van Gogh is what came out of these discussions. The Nativity has been depicted in many different media, both pictorial and culptural. Pictorial forms include murals, panel paintings, manuscript illuminations, stained glass windows and oil paintings. The subject of the Nativity is often used for altarpieces, many of these combining both painted and sculptural elements. Although the religious significance of the subjects recorded in these paintings may have declined, nevertheless the human values associated with the Biblical stories: Kindness, charity, generosity and redemption, remain poignant and the paintings of The Nativity, the Adoration of the Shepherds and the Adoration of the Magi still have the power to resonate with us, particularly at Christmas and in these dark troubling times. |

This catalog features portraits of each of the presidents of the United States of America. Each page in this exhibition is devoted to a specific president with a corresponding entry on the opposite page that shares pertinent information about them, along with a favorite quote directly from the subject. Our hope is that in 2021, this exhibition will help us to unite together, remember our nation’s history, and renew our reverence for the greatest nation on earth. | ||||||
