“Every time I open the studio door, the outside world presents a new photograph, a fresh perspective that rekindles my passion for capturing the extraordinary in the ordinary.” Gene Sasse |

“Beyond the Studio Door” is an idea that sprouted as I ventured out and explored the neighborhood surrounding my studio. Nestled next to a quaint private airport, a cluster of commercial buildings, and a fire station, the environment may seem unremarkable at first glance. Yet, within this seemingly ordinary backdrop, a treasure trove of visual narratives waiting to be uncovered. As I reflect on this collection of images, it’s fascinating how photography can reveal a different perspective on the world around us. My aim is to capture the very essence of the subjects I encounter, unveiling the beauty that hides in plain sight amidst the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. By focusing my lens on common place objects and scenes, I seek to challenge conventional perspectives and inspire viewers to pause, reconsider, and rediscover the abstract splendor often overlooked in the mundane. From the allure of the area’s parking lots and trash dumpsters to every facet of this environment, unique subjects come and go fleetingly. It’s a joy to explore these ordinary elements, offering glimpses into the hidden gems that evade casual observation. Each image becomes an extraordinary subject waiting to be discovered and brought to life. “Beyond the Studio Door” is more than just a collection of images; it’s an invitation to embark on a journey of discovery. It’s a call to explore and
the appreciation for the world that surrounds us. There exists a rich
tapestry of visual poetry awaiting those willing to look beyond the surface. Through this series, I aspire to ignite a sense of curiosity for the beauty
hidden in plain sight, encouraging viewers to embark on their own
explorations of the extraordinary within the ordinary. |
